Alpenlume

Terms of Use

Filmlume — a film-negative and slide scanner.

Effective 12 September 2026.

In short: Filmlume is a free download, fully unlocked by one payment, after a free three-day trial. Apple takes the payment and handles refunds. The app is a tool: check its results before you rely on them.

The agreement

These terms apply to your use of Filmlume (“the app”), published by Alpenlume, an independent developer resident in Switzerland (“we”, “the developer”). By downloading or using the app you accept them.

The app is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to the Standard EULA; where they conflict on anything concerning Apple, the Standard EULA prevails. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

Purchases, trials and renewals

Filmlume is a free download. The full app is unlocked by a single in-app purchase, charged to your Apple Account when you confirm it. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.

Refunds and cancellation

All payments are processed by Apple. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and decided by Apple under its own policies; the developer cannot issue refunds or see your payment details. Where the law of your country gives you a right to withdraw from the purchase or another remedy, you exercise it through Apple. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law.

Your licence

You may use the app on any Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the Standard EULA, for your own use, personal or professional. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows it.

Scans, colour and copyright

Scan only film that you own or have the right to copy, for your own use. You are responsible for respecting the copyright and privacy of anybody else's pictures.

Colour and density are the app's interpretation of the film — including its classic lab rendering and film looks, which are our own models and not the makers' data — not a certified reproduction. Keep your original film.

Your information and third-party services

What you put into the app stays on your device and is yours. You are responsible for keeping backups of anything that matters to you.

Where the app lets you reach a service run by somebody else, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply, and we are not responsible for it.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

Statutory warranty rights that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you remain unaffected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or business, lost data, lost film or pictures, or any loss arising from reliance on calculations, suggestions, readings or documents produced with the app. The developer's total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including under Art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations.

Changes and availability

We may update the app and these terms. A changed version of these terms applies from its effective date to use after that date; it will never take away a purchase you have already made. The app may not remain available forever; a one-off purchase stays usable on your devices for as long as they run a version of iOS the app supports.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts at the developer's place of residence in Switzerland have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country or the protection of its mandatory law.

If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.
