Privacy Policy
Filmlume Studio — a photo editor for film scans and digital photographs on the Mac.
Effective 12 September 2026.
In short: Filmlume Studio collects no personal data. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. What you put into the app stays on your device.
Who is responsible
Filmlume Studio is published by Alpenlume, the name under which Mariusz Maliszewski — a private individual resident in Switzerland, trading as a sole proprietor — publishes apps (“we”, “the developer”). Mariusz Maliszewski is the controller for the purposes of this policy.
For anything to do with your privacy, write to alpenlume@gmail.com; we answer every message ourselves. Our full postal address is given on request, and is shown with the app on the App Store in the European Union.
What we collect
Nothing. Filmlume Studio has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifier, no crash-reporting service and no tracking of any kind. We run no server for the app. We do not build profiles, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information — we do not have any.
The App Store's “App Privacy” label for Filmlume Studio is therefore “Data Not Collected”.
What stays on your device
The information you put into Filmlume Studio is stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad, protected by iOS encryption and your passcode. That includes:
- the pictures you bring into the app (a copy of each is kept in the app on your Mac)
- your rolls, frames, ratings, labels and edits
- your presets
If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, that backup is made by Apple's iOS under your settings and Apple's privacy policy; we never see it. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Bringing pictures in
You choose pictures and folders with the Mac's own file panel, drag them onto the window, or pick them in the Photos picker. The app receives only what you choose and keeps a copy of each in its own storage on your Mac. It cannot see the rest of your files or library.
Photos
When you choose to save a finished picture to your photo library, the app adds it. Pictures you export to a folder go only where you tell the app to put them.
Editing
Every picture is developed on your Mac, by your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, and the developer receives no pictures, no edits and no information about what you do.
Permissions
Filmlume Studio asks for a permission only at the moment a feature needs it, says why, and works without it where it can. You can change any of them at any time in Settings › Filmlume Studio.
- Files and folders you choose
- Photos (when you import from or save to your library)
Apple, Siri and purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Filmlume Studio never sees your name, card or address; it asks the App Store only whether this Apple Account owns the app or a subscription. Apple's privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy) governs the transaction.
Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight. If you use Filmlume Studio's actions with Siri or the Shortcuts app, your request is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and the app receives only the action and the values it needs to carry it out.
Sharing. When you share something from the app, iOS hands it to the app you pick, which sends it under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and we never learn where it went.
If you write to us
If you email alpenlume@gmail.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, and use them only to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering, or the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR; Art. 31 FADP). Messages are kept for as long as the conversation needs and deleted within 24 months after it ends, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages on our behalf and may do so in the United States and other countries, under Google's safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses. We share support messages with nobody else.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you (usually none), and have it corrected, deleted or handed to you. In particular:
- Switzerland (FADP): the rights to information, correction, deletion and data portability, and to complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch).
- EU and UK (GDPR): the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, to withdraw consent, and to complain to the supervisory authority where you live or work.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the rights to know, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months, do not use sensitive personal information, and have collected none except what you send by email, which is used only to answer you.
To use any of these rights, email alpenlume@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days and never charge for it.
Children
Filmlume Studio is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age for consent in your country, and collects nothing from anybody. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, write to us and we will delete it.
Security and automated decisions
Because nothing leaves your device, your information is protected by your device's own security: its passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS encryption. Filmlume Studio makes no automated decisions about you and does no profiling.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date, and a significant change will be noted in the app's release notes. A change will never permit collecting data retroactively.
